Somewhat Cheesy ’80s Remixes
There’s no shortage of bargain albums wherein folks take a popular set of songs and re-record them with anonymous session musicians. But I stumbled across one I thought might be worth mentioning here.
It’s a compilation of ’80s songs, re-recorded mostly as workout mixes. The interesting part is that the set has 40 songs and runs nearly three and half hours, but only counts as a 12 song album on Emusic. And Emusic gives you 25 free downloads when you sign up for a trial–which leaves you 13 credits to sample their catalog.
I should warn you that these are not the most imaginative mixes you’ll ever hear. But, if you’d be curious to hear a slew of impersonators, cranking out dance versions of “Summer of ’69,” “She Drives Me Crazy,” and “Walk Like An Egyptian”–you’re not going to find a better deal.
