Changes
I overhauled the navigation of the site this week.
Basically, the menus above allow you to sort the songs on the site by source, genre, etc.
If you’ve been using the site awhile, you know that a list of options scrolls down when you hover over any of the “Sort” options. And, this weekend, I replaced those scrolling lists with regular links.
The Bad News
This change means you’ll have to click on the “Sort” area to see the genre or tempo options…which adds a step to browsing…which might slow you down.
The Good News
The scrolling lists that I took out required a fair amount of code on the back-end. So, taking out all of that code has sped the site up.
All In All
Honestly, the new browsing drove me crazy for the first day or two. Now, it seems normal. Plus, everything else–playing samples, voting, searching–is noticeably faster.
That’s all. I just wanted to let you know what had changed on the site and why.
If you’ve not already tried the new menu, feel free to give it a whirl.
